The defining challenges Alukka came to us with were rooted in: 1) “Who is this company,” in other words, what is its unified corporate voice and 2) “What does Alukka do,” especially in context to its mission and vision. Our objective was to help Alukka navigate through these two challenges and create a seamless experience that made sense to their diverse set of user personas (caregivers, patients, medical staff) each with their unique needs.
Understanding Alukka’s customers and creating empathy amongst core stakeholders
In order to craft effective content, we needed to understand the background of Alukka’s mission statement which included making medical payments transparent in a difficult economy. Interviewing potential users, stakeholders and Alukka’s founding team allowed us understand the needs and goals of their users as well as their typical pain points and goals. From there, we were able to tailor a ux design and strategy that aligned to our user research.
Crafting a unified brand for future scaling and brand tone and voice
Alukka’s visual identity needed to align with their corporate narrative of “Seamless Healthcare” and support their 3 objectives of “Invoices,” “Payments,” and “Big Data.” We created a fresh modern visual identity that is inspiring and friendly. Every design element was designed with intent to support Alukka’s brand narrative and appeal to current and future users. A style guide was created to allow the design system to remain consistent across people and teams.
